Jeremy Freed is a writer for GQ Recommends, where he covers all things horological (a.k.a. watches). Jeremy discovered the world of watches as the editor of a Canadian men’s magazine, and has spent the last decade trying to understand what makes them continue to inspire such passion and desire in the smartphone era. His brain is now full of arcane and otherwise useless knowledge like the difference between perlage and guillochage, and why 36mm is the best size for a watch case. Jeremy came to journalism via a B.A. in theater performance (ask him about his Malvolio) and lives in Nova Scotia, Canada. He’s a fan of polar bear swims, birding, and a really good sandwich.
