The Batman: Part II director Matt Reeves Expands Cast to Include Some Familiar Faces
Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch are headed for Gotham City, with actors Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson also confirmed to feature
Production is well and truly underway on The Batman: Part II and filmmaker Matt Reeves has upped the ante for this sequel.
In a series of posts on X, Reeves announced the casting of Atlanta and Marvel Studios’ Eternals star Brian Tyree Henry alongside German film veteran Sebastian Koch of The Lives of Others and Homeland fame. Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance was also revealed by Reeves to be joining the ensemble.
The announcement comes just hours after the director confirmed the inclusion of Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson – no strangers to the ‘comic book movie’ genre – to the sequel. Best known for their performances as Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes (Stan) and Natasha Romanoff/Black Window (Johansson) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are eager to see which roles they step into as they enter the caped crusader’s dark and broodier world.
Also returning for the sequel are Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Andy Serkis as his faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffery Wright as James Gordon, and Colin Farrell as villain Penguin.
The Batman: Part II is scheduled for theatrical release in October 2027.
