Disney Confirms Season 5 of The Bear Will be its Last
Gonna need a minute in the walk-in after this, cousin
It is official. The Bear is closing. A day following the surprise release of flashback episode “Gary”, Disney+ have announced that the highly-acclaimed culinary dramedy will conclude with its fifth season.
Season five of The Bear will pick up directly where they left off last June, with Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Natalie “Sugar” (Abby Elliot), and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) left to pick up the pieces of their struggling restaurant after star chef Carmy’s (Jeremy Allen White) shock exit from the food business. With the threat of financial ruin looming, the remaining partners must band together in a bid to secure a coveted Michelin star for their restaurant.

A series which has spawned countless viral moments and memes for its relatable hyper-realism and back-of-house moments, it is easy to see why news of their upcoming final service tastes bittersweet. Critics often regard The Bear as a love letter to food, with interlaid narratives exploring grief and family. Equal parts amazing and heartbreaking, the FX-produced half-hour series has amassed accolades aplenty since its 2022 debut.

Thanks for the memories, cousin.
All episodes of the final season of The Bear will be available to stream on 25 June on Disney+
